How it works

  1. 1

Pick the format you want: JPG, PNG or WebP.

  2. 2

Drop your images onto the page, choose them, or paste with Ctrl+V.

  3. 3

Download each converted image, or all of them as a ZIP.

What it does

Turn WebP, PNG, JPG, GIF, AVIF and BMP images into JPG, PNG or WebP. Choose the quality, pick a background colour for transparent areas when making JPGs, and convert a whole batch at once. Everything runs on your device.

Your files stay yours

Your images are converted by code running in this browser tab. They are never uploaded to HeyGrow or anyone else, nothing is stored after you close the page, and hidden metadata such as GPS location is removed by default.

  • Converts to JPG, PNG or WebP
  • Reads JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF and BMP
  • Adjustable quality for JPG and WebP
  • Choose the background colour for transparent areas when converting to JPG
  • Batch conversion with a ZIP download
  • Removes hidden metadata such as GPS location by default

Good to know

  • Animated GIFs and WebPs are converted as a still image (their first frame).
  • HEIC photos from iPhones aren't supported yet.
  • Safari versions before 17 cannot create WebP files.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser on your own device.

How do I convert WebP to JPG?

Choose JPG, then drop your WebP files. Each one is converted instantly and you can download it, or all of them as a ZIP.

What happens to transparency when converting PNG to JPG?

JPG doesn't support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a background colour — white by default. You can choose any colour before converting.

Which format should I choose?

JPG for photos and maximum compatibility, PNG for screenshots, logos and anything needing transparency, and WebP for the smallest files on the web.

Does converting reduce quality?

JPG and WebP are lossy formats; at the default 90% quality the difference is not visible for photos. Converting to PNG is lossless.
